Jaspersparkle (Anne Arkle)
Born and raised on Anglesey in North Wales, I began making silver spoon rings as a hobby in 2010 after being inspired by the history of the silver spoon ring which dates back to 17th century Britain. We launched our company Jaspersparkle at the Anglesey Show in 2011.
I am self- taught, and class myself as a Spoonsmith! My tools are very basic and probably similar to the tools used back in the 17th century. In Britain at that time, servants were known to steal a silver spoon from the Manor house in which they worked. They would then fashion this into their wedding ring. Many were caught and sentenced to seven years transportation “beyond the seas” to Tasmania and Australia.
